About Floral Buns
Hi,
My name is Tori and I’m 15 years old. I have been dancing since I was 3 years old, I have taken classes in ballet, tap, modern and Jazz but in the last year I have decided that I just want to focus on ballet & contemporary as I want to go to vocational ballet school when I’m 16.
Floral buns was created as I have a very expensive pointe shoe habit and with my sister in full time Performing Arts training my parents were struggling to keep up with my need for pointe shoes every 2 or 3 weeks….. my record is 30 minutes !!!
My Mum suggested I needed to either look for some sponsorship or do something to fund every other pair of shoes. I had made a few bun garlands for myself and my friends and decided to have a go at selling them. They sold well and with the help of my sister I set up an Etsy shop which I’m really pleased with, I’m doing GCSE Business so I get a lot of support from my teachers.
I have recently auditioned for The Joffrey Ballet School New York and I have been offered a full time place from September 2021 which I am hoping to help fund some of my fees through my sales.
It can sometimes be hard making bun wraps on top of school work and 16 hours of ballet training a week but I feel good about not being so dependent on my parents.
